  1. A Lover’s Sequence is an ongoing series of fine art photographs begun in 2015. In the Sufi tradition, the lover is the devotee and the world is the face of the Beloved, as the poet Ghalib wrote, the world is no more than the Beloved’s single face. Seen this way, attraction becomes an act of worship, and every ordinary thing carries the charge of the sacred. No bodies appear in these photographs, only objects, a fig, a stone, a door left ajar, through which the world is quietly revealed. Is this erotic photography, a devotional act, or simply the peripatetic notes of a wandering monk?
