Little Chapel Compositions (2013-)
To restore silence is the role of objects.
— Samuel BeckettLittle Chapel Compositions is an ongoing photographic series begun on Leros, Greece, in 2013. Photographed in and around small chapels, built as humble offerings to God, the work isolates minimal units of matter, texture, and passing light. Inspired by Simone Weil’s notion that absolute attention is a form of prayer, the series transforms ordinary objects into quiet visual compositions. It approaches these spaces of devotion as fields of attention, where the sacred, the material, and the abstract converge.
